ONE OF MY PRACTITIONER FOR THIS EXERCISE is
TRACEY MOFFAT
- Born: November 12, 1960 (age 54), Brisbane, Australia
These vibrant reds are awesome .. Since her first solo exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney in 1989, she has exhibited extensively in museums all over the world. A solo survey exhibition featuring all 7 video montage works at the Museum of Modern Art, New York opened in May 2012.Tracey Moffatt first gained significant critical acclaim when her short film Night Cries was selected for official competition at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. Her first feature film, beDevil, was also selected for Cannes in 1993. In 1997, she was invited to exhibit in the Aperto section of the Venice Biennale. A major exhibition of Moffatt’s work was later held at the Dia Center for the Arts in New York in 1997/98 which consolidated her international reputation.Comprehensive survey exhibitions of Moffatt’s work have been held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (2003-4), the Hasselblad Centre in Goteburg, Sweden (2004) and at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide (2011). In 2006, she had her first retrospective exhibition Tracey Moffatt: Between Dreams and Reality in Italy, at Spazio Oberdan, Milan. In 2007 a major monograph, ‘The Moving Images of Tracey Moffatt’, was published by Charta Publishers, Milan.Tracey Moffatt was the recipient of the 2007 Infinity Award for art by the International Center of Photography, New York. Infinity Awards are given for outstanding achievements in photography by honouring individuals with distinguished careers in the field and by identifying future luminaries.
The Indigenous photographers’ exhibition was clearly breaking new ground but received little press coverage, with only Moffatt being interviewed by Anne Howell in the Sydney Morning Herald. It was her first public write-up and, later, in 1998 Moffatt was the first Indigenous photographer to exhibit at the Australian Centre for Photography and enter museum collections in Australia.
This to me is a very delicate warm and fuzzy image, and a bizarre one . I love how she brings the reds / oranges and yellows out and right into your face.............................................................................................................................................................................MY SECOND PRACTITIONER
Ryan McGinley (born October 17, 1977) is an American photographer living in New York City who began making photographs in 1998. In 2003, at the age of 25, McGinley was one of the youngest artists to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He was also named Photographer of the Year in 2003 by American Photo Magazine.[1] In 2007 McGinley was awarded the Young Photographer Infinity Award by the International Center of Photography.[2]The title, ‘Life Adjustment Center’, is the name of a rehabilitation center down the street from me. I’ve passed their sign for so many years and I always loved the vagueness of the name. You know, it could mean anything. And I feel like it’s what I do. I take this group of people and we get into a bus and we travel all around the United States and jump out of trees and camp together—It’s a complete removal from real life. You adjust your life for my photos and for the trip we’re on.
Ryan McGinley
This is Lady GaGa , Ryan shot this for the Rolling Stone magazine I love the colours here. I would say he produced this shot using gels. This is a well thought out plan to get this result . My guess after our group set up this would have been quite difficult getting the yellows right .
I love this image , Its beautiful
The colour of her hair with the butterfly.....
This is an image similar to the one we could choose in our photo shoot time.
A one coloured back ground and a model. Lighting in front on top and behind.
This to me doesn't look real. Perhaps this image has been photo shopped . I tried to find the answer but couldn't see it anywhere.
Ryan David McGinley, born in Ramsey, New Jersey, is the youngest of eight children. From an early age his peers and mentors were skateboarders, graffitiartists, musicians, and artists that were considered to be on the fringes of society. He enrolled as a graphic design student[3] at Parsons School of Design in New York in 1995. He moved to the East Village in 1998, and covered the walls of his apartment with Polaroid pictures of everyone who visited him there.Well this guy isn't someone I would want to do to much more research on, personally just to much nudity , sex . But I did choose a couple of images of his that were full of colour. He clearly is a very talented person, shoots with the stars .
