So I did some research on myself, what do I like , can I achieve these ideas realistically , is the season right if I was to choose a tree / flower , whats in bloom ?
Its Autumn now and theres beautiful colours with the trees and leaves at the moment.
I love colour and lights where can I work with that ?
I like Architecture and again low angle and narrow DOF .
Where am I able to shoot wheres the kids are safe ?
Whats realistic, and whats not , be comfortable with a subject that I choose
I took some Church shots to see if that was a possibility ..And I love the sky night or day.
I actually liked the idea of just taking photos of the one church getting all angles and different times and lighting , black and white , low and high vantage points although the high angle may have proven to difficult. As much as I liked this idea I thought my family may be abit more of a challenge.
I also really like landscape but with the sky taking up most of the image. This could work , I could include some pictures of the sky outside my back door after all they are very colourful and some dramatic.

These photographs are taken outside my back door. I like them perhaps they could fit into my portfolio ?
I decided in the end to take photographs of our home and kids. Fingers crossed I can work it.

This was a good start to your Portfolio project Denise. Please start posting the photos you have taken in the last two or three weeks and talk about what you think is working in your photography and anything that may not be working, as well as your ideas about your project. You should also be posting the photographers you have looked at each week and talk about what ideas and techniques you take from their work into your own.
ReplyDeleteYou’ve chosen some pretty great subjects! Not only that, you managed to show their good angles as to show great variations of lighting. And the picture of the amber sky is wonderful; you were able to catch a fascinating moment before the light completely faded out. Thanks for sharing them with us, Denise. All the best!
