PENINAJOY

PENINAJOY

Life is good and there are a lot of things in life that fascinate me - art, music, travel, tattoos & most of all people.

These are a few of my favourite things & this is how I see them - through my lens.

For more of the good things & people in life that fascinate me - check out my blog peninajoy.com

Well this lady has a love of life, especially people, colourful people.

She has been involved in a few photography shoots with other people such as 'The Society "  and those are very successful. For example she joined in to do Night shooting with the Society Bros in East Tamaki/ Highland Park.. They were taking photographs of Artist working and some great images of graffiti , then they moved to K-Rd to do some more  shooting.
There are some really nice images of Mangere Bridge and other areas of Auckland.
She also loves music and taking photos of the Musicians. And well done to her they are brilliant shots.
Growing up both my parents were into music and my Mother had a really impressive LP collection – I remember dancing around a lot to ‘Rock the Boat’ . Gosh I can relate to that I loved that sone to.

She has travelled abroad and has some beautiful photos to show of her journey.

A beautiful talented lady .

I have added some of her photos..

Her passion with music..

Growing up both my parents were into music and my Mother had a really impressive LP collection – I remember dancing around a lot to ‘Rock the Boat’ by the Hues Corporation and the likes of The Commodores, Percy Sledge, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Miriam Makeba, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin etc

Apr - Joe
Was asked to shoot the New Life conference out at the Vodafone Events Centre.  My brother-in-law Joseph performed with his group ‘Unison

Jan - Sunset

Sunset out at Bucklands Beach outside one of LTD Entertainments Sunday Sessions – this was after the 1st Sunday session I went to with my Sunday Sessions crew – Jons, Pip & Upu.  For some reason I’d had to leave early that night so left just as the sun was setting and caught a few really cool shots.

Mar - Destiny

My niece Destiny Momoisea was Papatoetoe High Schools taupou for their Samoan Group.  She did such a great job – beautiful and graceful

PENINA'S  CLASS VISIT

We finally got to meet the lovely Penina . Amazing woman as I thought full of life and happy.

Her photography is her second job and Travel is her first , brilliant obviously at both .

Pennine showed us her first Art portfolio, I really liked her idea. She covered a lot of her life and self on this board.  She had her whanua , growing up , friends and her community.  I liked how she had some of her photos in black and white which represented her as a child and her parents ( back in the day ).

As a class exercise we were to take some photos with the same ideas as Penina and post them.

I thought about my exercise and with a lot of her images they involved  family and  the community . I thought about and  I decided Im always photographing my family  so it would be good to try another idea of hers.. She had some graffiti  and street photos that I really liked so I decide to give that concept a go.

KAYES ROAD PONSONBY AUCKLAND

KAYES ROAD SO BUSY AND FULL OF LIFE

EARLY MORNING KAYES ROAD

AMAZING ANGLES JUST HIDING BEHIND THE INFAMOUS KAYES ROAD

STREET ART .........GRAFFITI

Usage Note: The word graffiti is a plural noun in Italian. In English graffiti is far more common than the singular form graffito and ismainly used as a singular noun in much the same way data is. When the reference is to a particular inscription (as in There was abold graffiti on the wall), the form graffito would be etymologically correct but might strike some readers as pedantic outside anarchaeological context. There is no substitute for the singular use of graffiti when the word is used as a mass noun to refer toinscriptions in general or to the related social phenomenon:

BEAUTIFUL KIWIANA ART WORK TUCKED IN BEHIND KAYES ROAD
unsure of the artist.
Penina's photograph
.

Love this image  Never Give Up , Graffiti off Kayes Road.  This image was tucked behind a fence and the re was a drop.  In Peninas photographs she got the whole wall which I think makes the image look alot better. With my image it looks just like a painting you wouldnt have thought it was part of a bigger picture on a busy road and the wall this art was on was the car park.

As I walked around Kayes Road totally enjoying the scenery I thought of Penina and I photographed an amazing building and some Graffiti .

Some of my images were slightly out of focus but I held the thought of street photography .

  1. Hi Denise. Don't forget to do the image evaluation and talk about the ideas you were working with for this photo.
